1st Annual BRTCA Fun Day 2010 was held on June 5th 2010 in Michigan USA. Organizing, planning and hosting Fun Day this year was a joint effort between the Midnight Solo and Zastava kennels. We would like to thank the Michigan BRT team for the tremendous effort that went into fundraising, food preparation, finding a location and booking our hotel.
We were thrilled to see Marilyn Powel and Chris Maduri, who flew in from Arizona to represent BRTCA and helped us tremendously with the food preparation and many tedious tasks during their stay. Thank you ladies for your help and great company!

We had 50 people attending with over 25 BRTS ranging from 3 months of age to 6 years old.

The day kicked off with a talk from Master trainer Bernie VanPelt “How to become fair and Loving Leader to you BRT”.   It was very helpful and informative with lots of time set aside for questions and answers.  We would like to thank Bernie for taking the time to travel to share his expertise with BRT owners.

After absolutely delicious BBQ lunch was with lots of hot dogs, salads, dips, chips and deserts Rusah gave cart rides to kids and some adults. I answered many questions about draft work, safety of the equipment and how to get started in it.

Costume contest was a blast!  Only 2 BRTs entered, but they did go all the way out!  5 months old  Milana
(Rusah x Onyx) owned by Olga Kornienko was a cutest bumble ever.
Senja was dressed as Aladdin who walked proudly with gorgeous Jasmine (Senja’s young owner Stesha) Proud Mom Vika was near her lovely “couple”

The raffle table was overflowing with great items, donated by many USA and Canadian companies.  Most folks went home with lots of treats, shampoos, toys, leashes, harnesses and much more.  It was a great day, but most importantly the 2010 Fun day raised a substantial sum for BRTCA rescue fund.  We thank all our sponsors for their generous support of BRT rescue.

Olga Kornienko and Urs demonstrated Russian traditional physical conditioning AKA tire pulling. Olga explained how to get started in it, what kind of harness to use and how do it safely with a BRT. Urs had a grand time showing off his power!
